Sunday 1st Rudry Ridgeway Walk •• A 5m circular walk in the Rudry area. The walk includes some of the Rhymney Valley Ridgeway with plenty of wildlife and some great views of the Bristol Channel, Cardiff and if the weather’s fine you might see English coast line.  Lunch not necessary, as we should be finished by 2pm, but you may want to bring a snack. Sunday 1st Smaller COG Walk – Penarth Cliff Top Walk • –  Join Phil and Gill for a 2 mile walk suitable for families with young children and people who don’t mind stopping a lot! Buggy-friendly. Tuesday 3rd Canada Talk – Come and hear about Jane M’s trip from Toronto to Montreal via an eco-lodge in Algonquin Country Park. Meet 8pm at Chapter – Media Point.

Sunday 8th Ridgeway Walk •• – A 10 mile walk along the Ridgeway from Pontyclun to Lisvane, taking in a pub or two.  Contact Richard on 07748 883843 or waxcap@gmail.com for further details.                                                 (Public Transport Walk)

Sunday 8th Small COG Walk – Penallta Community Park Walk • –  A 6 mile circular walk from Ystrad Mynach to Mynadd Egwysilan and the countryside around Aber Valley.  Refreshments available at Llanfabon Inn, Nelson if desired. At the end of the walk there is the option to go for a warm drink and mince pies at Caerphilly Medieval Christmas Fair with street entertainment and food and gift stalls. Bring wet gear, packed lunch and good walking shoes/wellies. Meet at 10.30am at the Car Park off Penallta Road, CF82 7BG.  For more details contact Sheena Carlisle on 07504 229058.

Tuesday 10th Trivia and Supper at Sian’s, Llandaff North.  Bring a plate of food to share, plus the drink of your choice, and join me for an evening of competitive general knowledge, food, drink and banter. Sunday 15th Barry Island Walk  Short winter walk (4 miles approx)  crossing the causeway from The Knap and making a circuit around Barry Island ending at a teashop.  Lunch not necessary, but you may want to bring a snack.  Leave Chapter at 10am.  Contact Rhona on 07816499754.

Sunday 15th The Spirit of the Season – A concert by the City Voices Cardiff choir, with numbers from The Polar Express, Home Alone, A Christmas Carol and many other favourite Christmas songs. Starts 7pm at St David’s Hall, Cardiff.  Tickets £20, £15, £12, £10 and £5. Wednesday 18th  Christmas Curry – Give your taste buds a curry treat at the Kasturi on Crwys Road before Christmas.  It’s bring your own drinks (wine/beer). Meet at 7pm in the restaurant. Sunday 29th Cosmeston/Sully to Penarth Walk •• – A refreshing 7 mile walk along the coastal path to blow away cobwebs and walk off those festive indulgences with a leisurely walk into Penarth and back, taking in views of the Channel, the lake and medieval village.  BPL. Wednesday 1st New Year’s Day Walk • – Come along to Cardiff Bay for some fresh air on New Year’s Day!  A 6  miles around Cardiff Bay on New Year’s Day. Meet at the Norwegian Church at noon.
