Wednesday 6th – Garth Mountain Walk ••
A 4 mile walk to the top of the highest hill within Cardiff – Garth Mountain – a shade over 1,000 feet, with a stop at the Garth Inn on the way back. Meet at 7pm at Taffs Well rail station. Contact Peter K on 029 20484431 or 07866 551431.

Sunday 10th – Monnow Valley Walk ••
10 mile walk from Rockfield village across rolling countryside to Skenfrith and back, followed by tea and cakes at Colette and Andrew’s house.  BPL. Starting from Rockfield at 10.30am or leave Chapter at 9.30am Contact Colette and Andrew on 01600 712160.

Sunday 17th – Smaller COGs Walk

Tuesday 12th – Art Exhibition Tour and Curry
A guided tour of the art degree shows at Cardiff School of Art and Design, Howard Gardens, followed by a curry at Kismet, City Road. Meet 6.15pm at A Shot in the Dark, 12 City Road, for a pre-show drink or 7.00pm at CSAD reception, Howard Gardens.  Paid parking available on campus, but better to park in residential streets off City Road if coming for the curry. Sunday 17th – Cotswold Way Walk ••
13 miles walk from the lovely Cotswold village of Painswick. We’ll pass near the village of Slad, made famous by Laurie Lee in Cider with Rosie, then through fields and woods to join up with the Cotswold Way at Standish wood.  The circuit of Haresfield Hill should give us views back across to Wales if we get a clear day before we return to Painswick with time to explore the churchyard with 99 yew trees & or pub. Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th – Beginner’s Backpack Weekend ••
This backpack w/e is planned to be fun, enjoyable and not strenuous. We will be travelling through pastoral Hereford – golden Valley area with a max.mileage each day of 8 miles. Friday night: The Bridge End Inn campsite £10 per night. Leaving cars here, Saturday night will be spent at Astro Clear View Camping £5 per night.  There are pubs at both venues. If you have never tried backpacking before, maybe this is one for you? If interested contact Roger by e- mail for interest. Please confirm interest as early as possible so I can book pitches as campsites get busy in June.

Sunday 24th – Small Cog Walk •

Tuesday 26th – Pub Night with a difference
At the Brynfynnon Hotel, Llanwonno, a visit to this quaint 17th century pub for a drink, a chat, food if you wish (serving till 9pm), a crepuscular quest for the strange nocturnal nightjar on the adjacent Forestry Commission land and, if the sky is clear, telescopic views of the mountains of the moon, the deserts of Mars and the rings of Saturn. World of Music and Dance (WOMAD) festival – 27th to 29th July
Taking place at Charlton Park, Wiltshire. Travel the world with COG this summer, musically-speaking at least, with a trip to the famous, annual World Music festival held on the outskirts of the picturesque market town of Malmesbury in the southern Cotswolds.
