Wednesday 2ndCentral American Slideshow
Richard T talks about his overland trip from Mexico City to Costa Rica, via various, stupendous volcanoes, mountains, jungles, beaches and lakes and Mayan and Aztec ruins, using such varied modes of locomotion as bus, boat and his legs. Meet 8pm at Chapter – Media Point

Friday 4th to Monday 7th – Early May BH Weekend Lleyn Peninsula
We will be staying on Penyberth Caravan Park between Pwllheli and Abersoch. The two bungalows (sleeping 5/6 each) have been fully       booked for some time.  However there is camping available on the site if anyone is interested. Tuesday 8th – Roath Walk •
A gentle stroll around Roath Park and its environs then on to the Three Arches Pub. Meet at 6.30pm near the Lighthouse in Roath Park. Contact Phil Sheen on 07778 317033 for details.

Friday 11th to Sunday 13th – Carmarthen Fans Backpack ••••
Get away from it all for 2 days in the wilderness of the Black Mountain involving a remote camp.  Plenty of atmosphere and wild beauty, but no   facilities or pub. Sunday 13th – Fourteen Locks Walk ••
WALK CANCELLED
A 10m walk starting at 14 locks and taking in a canal, fields, woods and a reservoir. BPL.  Leave Chapter 9.30am or 14 locks visitor centre High Cross, Newport at 10am.   Contact Martyn on 07773 710787.

Tuesday 15th – Heidi Talbot – Irish folk singer
Nominated singer of the year, BBC folk awards 2010, will be performing in the lounge at St David’s Hall as part of the Roots Unearthed Sessions. Starts at 8pm.  Cost £12 (in advance or £13 on the day). If interested in coming along contact Jane O on 07425 131017 or by e-mail jormrod@live.co.uk

Sunday 20th May – Change of walk. The Chepstow Walk that wasadvertised has had to be postponed until later in the year.

Insteadthere will be an 8 mile walk starting from Porthkerry Parkat 11am.  Leave Chapter at 10.15am
A chance for all, COGs big and small, to get together.Three walks starting and finishing at the same place and finishing with apicnic (or BBQ if you BYO),  bring your own food. All walks recceed and risk assessed so all are welcome on each.
Walk 1 – 8 miles
Walk 2  – 4 miles
Walk 3 – 1.5 miles

Meet to join the small COGs at 11am in Porthkerry Car Park (viaduct end). Then itsa 4 mile loop west to BarryIsland followed by a fourmile loop east towards Rhoose along the spectacular coast.  This will befollowed by joint BBQ with the Small and Smaller COGs. Tuesday 22nd – Croquet at Duffryn Gardens

Saturday 26th – Brecon Beacons Waterfalls Walk •••
14 miles visiting the picturesque waterfalls west of Talybont reservoir and the windswept ambience of the Beacons ridge. BPL. Leave Chapter at 9.30am. Contact Richard T on 07748 883843.

Sunday 27th – Sian’s Taff Trail and Cream Tea Walk •
To welcome friends ”both old and new” to my new home. Meet at Llandaff Station, ”Llandaff North” at 10.30am for a 6-7 mile walk towards Tongwynlas and finishing at West Road for afternoon tea.  BPL.  I would appreciate if you could let me know if you are coming on the walk either by texting me on 07866 310046 or by e-mail shannycelt@hotmail.com.

World of Music and Dance (WOMAD) festival – 27th to 29th July
Taking place at Charlton Park, Wiltshire. Travel the world with COG this summer, musically-speaking at least, with a trip to the famous, annual World Music festival held on the outskirts of the picturesque market town of Malmesbury in the southern Cotswolds.
