Friday 6th to Tuesday 10th – Easter Backpack “Glyndwr’s Way” •••
Tina is organising a COG backpack along part of the National Trail Glyndwr’s Way. The full route runs from Knighton to Welshpool via Machynlleth and is around 135 miles. Glyndwr’s Way offers an exhilarating walking experience and a chance to explore the remote Mid Wales countryside…or at least that’s what the book says! Lebanese/Syrian restaurant – good food includes veggie options – beware portions can be very large. No alcohol served but delicious range of juices/smoothies and pubs nearby for a drink afterwards. A varied linear 12 mile walk, starting in the Vale of Glamorgan and crossing several valleys to end up in Bridgend. Meet at Cardiff Central at 9.10am for 9.18m train to Pencoed or meet at Pencoed station at 9.45am. Sunday 22nd – Trefil Walk ••
An 8 mile walk in the little visited area moorland area around Trefil between the Brecon Beacons and Heads of the Valleys. Excellent views of the higher beacons summits. The walk will pass a prehistoric burial chamber and cave used by the chartists to escape capture. Bring packed lunch. Pub at finish. Leave Chapter at 10.00am. Contact Peter K on
