Cardiff Outdoor Group has a varied programme of activities, taking advantage of the interests and expertise of our members who lead the events.
You can find full details of what walks and events are coming up by clicking on the links below. Non-members are welcome to join us for up to three walks or events before any membership fee becomes payable.
For a successful Programme we always need members to put on events such as walks, a talk, etc
If you’ve got an event for the Programme then please add it to our on-line calendar of events. To do this Click Here and click on add event at the bottom of the calendar

Walking is at the heart of our programme – each weekend sees a COG walk taking place somewhere in South Wales or beyond. We usually have a meet point at Chapter Arts Centre to arrange car sharing before setting off for anything from 5 to 25 miles in the Beacons, Black Mountains, Wye Valley, Gower or even the Cotswolds.
Whether you prefer mountain scenery or coastal strolls and whatever your walking level, you should find something to suit you. A brief description of each walk, mileage and level of difficulty, details of the meet point and contact details for the leader can be found on our programme.
Evening events are held each week and vary from evening walks, Tai Chi tasters, social evenings, talks on subjects of interest to our members, quiz nights or theatre trips. Full details, including meet points, times and contact details for the event leader can be found on our programme.
We also have regular group weekends away – either staying at youth hostels or backpacking. The residential weekends require booking sometime in advance and details of future trips will appear on the programme several months before the event. You must be a paid-up member of COG to join a weekend away.
